01The problem
What was actually broken
Skin Affair required a distinct, premium sub-brand to position its advanced aesthetic and cosmetic services separately from its established parent identity, without losing the credibility the parent brand had already spent years building in the dermatology space.
The challenge was structural before it was creative. A sub-brand launched carelessly can either dilute the parent's credibility or fail to establish enough independent identity to actually stand for the premium, specialised positioning the aesthetic services genuinely deserved.
We see this mistake regularly, businesses launching a premium sub-brand as effectively a new coat of paint on the parent's existing identity, with no real architecture explaining the relationship between the two. Customers sense the lack of structure even when they cannot articulate why.
Friction 01
A sub-brand that could dilute the parent
Launched carelessly, it would have cost Skin Affair credibility built over years.
Friction 02
Or too little independent identity
The other failure is a sub-brand too weak to hold the premium positioning on its own.
Friction 03
No architecture explaining the relationship
Customers sense a missing structure even when they cannot articulate why.
Friction 04
The new-coat-of-paint default
Most premium sub-brands are the parent's identity restyled, with no real architecture underneath.
Four forces pressing on the same brand at once. Not one of them is a design problem, which is why not one of them is answered with decoration. The engagement exists to move the brand in a single direction against all four.
02The thought process
Why the sequence ran this way
We studied Skin Affair's existing brand equity carefully, identifying exactly which elements of trust the new sub-brand should inherit, and which elements needed to be built entirely fresh to establish the premium, standalone positioning the aesthetic services required.
Two branches run from the same question, and they run together rather than in turn. The engagement converges into a finished position only once both of them have answered.
03The strategy
Four phases, each giving the next something solid.
Sequential, each with its own deliverable. Nothing here ran open-ended.
Phase 01
Name and Identity Development
We developed the Siyara name and full identity, including logo, colour palette, typography, and the complete brand asset library.
Phase 02
Communication Architecture
We defined the communication architecture and premium positioning specifically for Siyara, distinct from Skin Affair's existing tone and audience approach.
Phase 03
Parent-Subsidiary Relationship Structure
We deliberately structured the relationship between Skin Affair and Siyara, ensuring Siyara could speak with its own voice while still drawing credibility from its parent, a genuine architecture decision, not a naming exercise alone.
Phase 04
Digital Branding Guidelines
We prepared guidelines for digital branding and future communication, ensuring the sub-brand relationship stayed coherent as both brands grew independently over time.
Four phases run in sequence, each handing the next something solid to build on. The fill deepens across the row because the commitment does: nothing in a later phase is decided before the phase before it has answered.
The Skin Affair connection was structured deliberately at every phase, so Siyara could speak independently without cutting itself off from the credibility behind it.
Sub-brand architecture
A sub-brand done properly does not weaken the parent, it gives the parent a second voice for a market the first voice was never built to reach.
04The ecosystem
How the phases relate
We structured the relationship between Skin Affair and Siyara deliberately, as genuine brand architecture, not a superficial rebrand. Siyara draws real strength from its parent while speaking with a distinct voice built specifically for its premium, specialised audience.
The pipeline shows the order the phases ran in. This shows why they were never four separate projects: each phase is a different surface of the same brand, and every one of them faces the same market.
05The outcome
What changed, and why it matters
Siyara now operates with a unique premium identity and a clear positioning strategy, communicating independently while actively strengthening the overall Skin Affair ecosystem rather than competing with or diluting it.
A sub-brand done properly does not weaken the parent, it gives the parent a second voice for a market the first voice was never built to reach. Siyara is proof of what that architecture looks like when it is built with intention rather than convenience.
The Siyara name and full identity, including a complete brand asset library.
A communication architecture and premium positioning distinct from the parent.
A deliberately structured parent-subsidiary relationship.
Digital branding guidelines keeping the relationship coherent as both grow.
A sub-brand drawing real strength from its parent while speaking its own voice.
A strengthened Skin Affair ecosystem rather than a diluted one.
Each row moved from an unresolved state to a resolved one. Nothing on the left was decorative, and nothing on the right is cosmetic.
A sub-brand done right does not dilute the parent. It gives the parent a second voice for a market the first voice could not reach.
